I get these things in my head that I think will be a good idea. Sometimes they work out - usually they cost me more time and money than I anticipate.
When I was younger, some family member (I think my grandmother) taught me how to make candy wreaths. I thought they were the coolest thing and until a couple of years ago would make one for particular family members every year. So, the craft fair rolls around and I start thinking, how fun would that be to sell the candy wreaths!
OK. Maybe it would work. But keeping in mind that I have a very limited amount of space in the apartment, would have to pay for a booth and rent a car, plus supplies, plus crafting time, plus correct pricing. And the event is in 5 weeks. I don't have a photo, but do a web search of images for "candy wreath" and you'll get the idea.
I can almost hear Mr. D's voice in my ear saying "Honey, really? This really is not a good idea.". I know I'll hear it when he reads this post!
Bella says, "Whatever Mom, just let me snooze"
I should just take the time and volunteer at the event instead. That's the better idea. Really........

From what you've written it sounds to me like you would have a much better time on the day if you do volunteer. And you will be able to enjoy the weeks prior too. Although Bella will miss out on helping you make the wreaths:)
Aw, Bella's so supportive. :)
Volunteering sounds fun (and less advance work too)!
